The Big Dig solar panels (25 Jan 2017)

In October 2016 solar panels were installed on the roof of The Big Dig Archaeology Education Centre. Since 20 Oct 2016, when monitoring started, our panels have generated 3.535 MWh of power, which translates into 2.4 tonnes of CO2 that’s been avoided.

The panels were installed as part of a larger solar project for Sydney Harbour YHA. In combination with the YHA rooftop panels, which have generated 17.758MWh in the same time frame, the whole solar project has avoided 14.4 tonnes of CO2.

Part of YHA’s commitment to sustainability.
